DON'T INFILTRATE NANS, POLITICIANS SHOULD STEER CLEAR, NANS REMAINS THE INDIVISIBLE APEX STUDENTS BODY.

The attention of the leadership of the apex student body in Nigeria (NANS) has been drawn to a purpoted news, insinuated by some few irrelevant students struggle business men under the decades banned NUNS.

Recall, in 1978,during the military regime of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, the then apex student body, national union of Nigeria students (NUNS)  was banned, then ably led by late comrade Akogun SEGUN Okeowo, during the popular Ali must Go Struggle.

However,after series of efforts,deliberations and reasonings by cadres and comrades in students struggle, in 1979-1980 it was unanimously resolved that the apex students body in Nigeria and diaspora shall be NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS). 

Since 1979,National association of Nigerian students(NANS) had been the known and only apex students body. Thus, National Union of Nigerian Students has metamorphosized to National Association of Nigerian students (NANS).

it will interest the general public to know that this epsalum figure(very negligible) persons, hiding under NUNS, contested the last NANS national convention/election held in Abuja from 5th-11th of July, 2018,but lost the election at the old parade ground in Abuja.  The convention produced comrade DANIELSON Bamidele Akpabio of Nassarawa State University as the president of NANS. 

However, the leadership of NANS is aware of the motives behind this there desperate act and also your sponsors. 

This set of persons are known Scopist and specialist in award presentation in the name of our noble association (NANS) to several unworthy persons, thereby cheapening The hard earned integrity of our dear NANS. 

We Hereby call on there sponsors (politicians)  to as a matter of necessity desist  from infiltrating our NANS, before the NANS leadership drags you along in mud with this known students struggle fraudsters. 

Finally, we declare the decades banned NUNS and the peddlers persona non-granta 150meters away from the radius of all higher institutions of learning in Nigeria and diaspora. 

We appreciate all Nigerian students for there endurance,comportment and cooperation in the out gone struggle year. 

The new leadership of NANS under the leadership of Comrade DANIELSON bamidele Akpan is majorly determined in making students welfarism and protection of rights of students against any form of victimization her primary motive in office.
